Final Stats

Baltimore, Md. - Five days after scoring her first career goal, senior defender Amanda Kulik (Kinnelon, N.J.) tallied her second for Marist's lone goal in a 5-1 loss at Loyola. The defending MAAC Champion Greyhounds outshot the Red Foxes 16-10 and Ali Andrzejewski tallied two goals for the home team.

Loyola came out hard, striking early and often in the first 15 minutes of the contest. Andrzejewski picked up her first goal at 11:50 off a feed from Ashley Kramar to give the Greyhounds the lead. Sara Moller struck just over a minute later before Andrzejewski recorded another goal at 14:44.

Marist slowed the Loyola offense and the game remained 3-0 Greyhounds for much of the balance of the half. Carolyn Kennington found Lea Day with five minutes left in the first to boost Loyola's lead to 4-0.

The Red Foxes improved their offensive output in the second half, tallying seven shots to Loyola's four. The half was scoreless until Kulik connected on a header from 15 feet out off a cross from freshman Haley Hart (Scottsdale, Ariz.). Hart led the Marist offense with three shots on goal and recorded her second assist of the season on Kulik's goal at 74:10. Loyola's Ty Glenn answered back just over a minute later for the final score of the game.

Marist's freshmen goalkeepers Anna Case (Plattsburgh, N.Y.) and Caitlin Nazarechuk (Ringwood, N.J.) combined for three saves with Nazarechuk recording two during the second half.

Loyola was boosted by solid play from goalkeepers Amanda Piccirilli and Kate Gilfillan who split time evenly and made three saves each.

With the loss, Marist falls to 3-7-1 (2-1 MAAC) while Loyola improves to 8-4-0 (3-0 MAAC).
