EDISON, N.J. - Marist junior Jamie Falco has been named MAAC Women's Swimmer of the Week it was announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. The North Haven, Conn. native set two school records last weekend during the 2006 Red Fox Invitational.
Over the two day event, Falco won four individual events, including the 200-yard freestyle in Marist record time of 1:54.92. Falco would go on to break the record in the 200-yard backstroke later in the day by swimming a time of 2:05.78. Falco also swam a 52.67 second anchor leg in the 400-yard freestyle relay which the Foxes won.
Falco and the rest of the Red Foxes will be in action in their first dual meet of the season on Thursday night when they take on Fordham in the Bronx. Last season the Foxes topped the Rams by a score of 128-113.
