POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist Women's Swimming and Diving team swam to a 183-101 victory over MAAC foe Fairfield on Sunday afternoon. Jenell Walsh-Thomas (Medford, N.J.), Lyndsay Martin (Schenectady, N.Y.), Jamie Falco (North Haven, Conn.) and Melissa Mangona (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) all won two individual events in the win for the Red Foxes.

Marist opened the afternoon by taking the top three places in the 200-yard medley relay. The Red Foxes "C" relay team came away with the win, as Alyssa Hewitt (Pittsfield, Mass.), Martin, Victoria Kemp (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) and Kim Koehler (Narragansett, R.I.) topped the four team field with a time of 1:55.44.

The Red Foxes would also take the top three spots in the 200-yard freestyle with Emily Hammang (Barrington, R.I.), Jenny Serino (Shelton, Conn.) and Kemp swimming times of 1:59.03, 1:59.71 and 2:08.30, respectively.

Marist would also take the top two positions in the 100-yard backstroke, as Jessica Paul (Meadowbrook, Pa.) swan a winning time of 1:05.76. She was followed by Catherine Hartford (Merrick, N.Y.) in second place with a time of 1:05.91.

Martin then went on to win her first individual event of the day, winning the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:09.31. She followed that up with a win in the 200-yard breast, swimming a time of 2:33.08.

Walsh-Thomas continued her strong rookie campaign by winning the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 2:16.73 and the 200-yard backstroke in 2:13.00.

Falco picked up two more wins on Sunday for Marist, as she took the top spot in the 100-yard freestyle in 53.13 seconds. She would go on to top the field in the 100-yard butterfly in a winning time of 1:00.33.

In diving action, Mangona continued to dominate as she swept both the one and three-meter events. She took the top spot off the one-meter board with a score of 249.53, before finishing on top in the three-meter event with a score of 255.07.

Sunday's win moves Marist to 2-1 on the young season and 2-0 in MAAC competitions. After a day off on Monday, the Red Foxes will travel to New Rochelle to take on Iona Tuesday evening. The meet against the Gaels is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
