Marist Head Coach Matt Brady
I'm pleased with the defensive effort. We had contributions from a lot of guys.
On the play of James Smith:
We can be a hard team to guard. We have a lot of guys who can shoot and James is one of them. He is really one of the better shooters in our league, regardless of his size.
We are better when we can play faster. Central Arkansas was really able to control the tempo in the first half. In the second half, we were able to run a little more.
That's the level we need to play at, where we are able to score 35 or 40 points in any half.
Jared Jordan
I woke up today and it (left ankle) felt the same. It didn't hurt, but today I was more comfortable out there. Anytime that you are hurt and you have to miss time, you want to get the rust off.
On winning the MVP title for the Tournament:
It's whatever. Personally, I thought that James should have gotten it. He played well tonight.
I felt better. I was able to do a couple of spin moves, which is my go-to move. I tried one last night and it just wasn't there.
James Smith
In the second half, their defense played me up a lot closer than in the first.
Central Arkansas Head Coach Rand Chappell
Obviously Marist is a great team having a great year. This was a good trip for us. We had a big win last night and we learned a lot about ourselves up here.
We made a little run in the second half, but they were just too strong.
(James) Smith is tough to guard. He is tough inside and a good shooter outside. It was tough to get out on him.
