Final Stats
SEBASTIAN, FLA. - The Marist Men's Lacrosse Team squared its record at 2-2 with a 6-5 win over Manhattan Saturday evening in Sebastian, Fla. Andrew Walsh (Liverpool, N.Y.) scored the game winner for the Red Foxes with just 2:30 remaining in the contest to seal the win.
Marist featured six different goal scorers as Tim Iuculano (Silver Spring, Md.), Keith Detelj (Sayville, N.Y.), Paul Santavicca (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.), Nick Hautau (South Salem, N.Y.), Peter O'Hara (Babylon, N.Y.) and Walsh all tallied in the win.
Marist held a 5-3 lead at halftime, but was shutout until the game winner was scored. The Jaspers knotted the score in the second half. After the Foxes took the lead freshman goalie Ryan Penner (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) made a big one-on-one save to seal the victory.
2005 MAAC Rookie of the Year Dan Needle was solid as he went 11-for-15 on face-offs. Penner picked up his second win in the cage as he made 15 saves in the contest.
Marist now stands at 2-2 overall and is 1-0 in MAAC play following the win. Marist will be off until March 25 when it travels to Lexington, Va. to take on MAAC foe VMI.
