JERSEY CITY, N.J. - The Marist men's tennis team earned a 7-0 victory over Saint Peter's on Tuesday in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference contest. With the triumph, the Red Foxes upped their MAAC record to 2-0, and now stand at 6-1 overall.
At first singles, Christian Coley (Cheshire, Conn.) downed Conrad Nowogrodski 6-2, 6-2 at second singles. Gregory Marks (Newburgh, N.Y.) posted a 6-4, 6-3 win over J.J. Gramatica at third singles. At fourth singles, Federico Rolon (San Diego, Calif.) rolled past Peter Czajka 6-0, 6-1. Jeff Nguyen (San Diego, Calif.) defeated Andrew Maple at fifth singles 6-0, 6-2. Michael Land (Kingwood, Texas) earned a 7-6 (8-6), 6-1 win over Jake Baranowski at sixth singles.
The Red Foxes also swept the doubles matches. Sessagesimi and Coley teamed up for an 8-2 win over Realista and Nowogrodski at the number one spot. At second doubles, Rolon and Nguyen downed Czajka and Baranowski 8-5. Marks and Land cruised to an 8-3 win at third doubles over Maple and Jonathan Pimenthal.
Marist will return to action on Saturday at the Bucknell Tournament.
