WEST POINT, N.Y.-The Marist men's tennis team secured the program's first-ever defeat of Army Wednesday evening at the United States Military Academy by a score of 4-3. Marist improved to 13-2 overall, while Army dropped to 9-10.
Marist senior Pedro Genovese (Asuncion, Paraguy), freshman Ray Josephs (Rose Valley, Pa.) and senior Federico Rolon (San Diego, Ca.) all picked up singles victories. Sessagesimi and freshman Christian Coley (Cheshire, Conn.) also nailed down an 8-6 win at No. 3 doubles.
The match lasted three and a half hours.
The Red Foxes will battle defending MAAC champion Manhattan tomorrow at Army at 6:30 p.m.
