In a back-and-forth affair, Stony Brook jumped on top 1-0 in the top of the first on an RBI groundout from Kelsi Fanelli. Marist would knot the score at one in the top half of the third on a solo home run from senior captain Christine Jakobsen (Midland Park, N.J.), her first of two long balls in the game and her sixth of the season.
The Seawolves would answer with two runs in the bottom of the fourth, before Marist took its first lead of the day with a three run fifth inning, with Annie Castellano (Hauppauge, N.Y.) driving in a pair with a single in the frame. Hulsey would also pick up an RBI in the inning on a two out single.

Stony Brook, however, would scratch out an unearned run in the bottom of the inning to force the game to extra frames.
Niether team could score a run until Hulsey drove in Melissa Giordano (Stamford, Conn.) with the eventual game winning run on a single to centerfield. The Red Foxes added an insurance run later in the inning on a bases loaded walk from Alison Catenacci (Medfield, Mass.). Rigos worked a scoreless bottom of the ninth to send Marist to the victory.
Jakobsen led Marist in game one, going 3-5 with three runs scored and a pair of RBI. Hulsey and Castellano each collected two hits for Marist and Jessica Green (Manassas, Va.) scored a pair of runs in the win.
Over nine innings, Rigos allowed four earned runs on seven hits and struck out nine.
Stony Brook would come back in game two and earn the split keyed by a five run second inning off of Marist starter Kristen Merlino (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.). The Seawolves would plate five runs on five hits in the inning, with three different players driving in runs. The Seawoves would add two more runs in the third to put the game away.
Marist would get a pair of runs in the fifth when Castellano drove in both runs with a single to right center field. Castellano would close out her three RBI game with a run scoring double in the seventh.
Castellano and Pamela de la Llave (West Orange, N.J.) were each 2-3 in the game and Jakobsen, Giordnao and Green all scored runs for the Red Foxes.
Merlino lasted just 2.2 innings and allowed six earned runs on five hits. She did not strikeout a batter and allowed three walks. Caitlin Carpentier (Andover, Mass.) came on for the final 3.1 innings and allowed just one hit, while striking out two.
Marist closes out the regular season at 18-28. At 9-7 in MAAC play, the Red Foxes still remain alive for next weekend's MAAC Tournament hosted by Fairfield. In 2006 the Red Foxes won the tournament for the first time in school history.
