POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist College Athletics Department released the men's and women's swimming and diving schedules for the 2007-08 season on Saturday. The Red Foxes are hoping to capture their fifth consecutive Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference championship on the women's side and fourth straight MAAC crown on the men's side this year under the direction of Larry VanWagner.
Marist will have its Red & White Challenge to begin the season on Oct. 13. The following weekend, the Red Foxes will host Army and Syracuse in the Red Fox Invitational, which will be held Oct. 19-20. Marist's first dual meet of the season will come at home against Fordham on Oct. 25.
At the start of November, the Red Foxes will have three consecutive dual meets against MAAC foes. On Nov. 3, Marist will travel to Lawrenceville, N.J., to take on Rider before having a road contest against Fairfield a week later. Marist will return home to face Iona on Nov. 13.
On Nov. 30-Dec. 1, Marist will take on conference foes Loyola and Niagara in addition to Delaware in a four-team meet hosted by Loyola. After having Intersession Training between Christmas and New Year's, the Red Foxes will have non-conference dual meets against Lehigh, Southern Connecticut State, Maryland-Baltimore County and Seton Hall.
The MAAC Championships will take place from Feb. 14-16, and will once again be hosted by Loyola in Baltimore, Md. The ECAC Championships will be held Feb. 29-March 2, and the NCAA Zone Qualifier Diving Championships will take place March 14-15.
