POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist baseball team suffered its third straight loss on Wednesday, as the Red Foxes fell to James Madison in a non-conference by a score of 10-3 at McCann Baseball Field. With the loss, the Red Foxes fell to 19-26 on the season.

Freshman center fielder Matthew Howard (Philadelphia, Pa.) had a pair of hits and a pair of runs scored for the Red Foxes. Junior third baseman Kyle Meyer (East Greenbush, N.Y.) had two hits and a run scored.

James Madison scored once in the first and four times in the second to jump out to a quick 5-0 lead. However, Marist clawed back, scoring a run in the third on an RBI triple by freshman second baseman Ricky Pacione (Newburgh, N.Y.), which plated Howard. The Red Foxes then added two runs in the fifth to cut the Dukes' lead to 5-3.

However, James Madison answered with three runs in the sixth and two in the eighth to put the game away. The Dukes pounded out 16 hits in the contest. Alex Foltz went 3-for-4 with three runs scored, Brett Sellers went 4-for-5 with three RBIs, and Matt Browning went 2-for-4 with a home run and a double.

James Madison improved to 32-16.

Marist will close out its season with a three-game series on Thursday and Friday against Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference rival Siena. The teams will play a doubleheader starting at noon on Thursday, followed by a single game at noon on Friday. Prior to Friday's game, Tom Close (Devon, Pa.) and Keith Glasser (Rensselaer, N.Y.) will be honored in the program's Senior Day ceremony.
