EDISON, N.J. - Senior Jenell Walsh-Thomas (Medford, N.J.) of the Marist women's swimming and diving team was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) women's swimmer of the week on Monday afternoon. It is the second time Walsh-Thomas has been given the honor by the conference, and first since 2007.
Walsh-Thomas swam to a mark of 10:29.44 in the 1,000-yd. freestyle and 5:07.02 in the 500-yd. freestyle, both second place finishes in Marist's first dual meet of the season against Fordham. She also helped her 400-yd. freestyle relay team to a second place finish with a time of 3:43.43. She was the second leg of the relay.
Marist will return to the pool on Saturday, Oct. 31 as it faces the defending MAAC champions, Rider, in its first conference dual meet of the season.
