HANOVER, N.H. - The Marist men's tennis team lost their second consecutive match to an Ivy League opponent on Saturday evening at Dartmouth. The overall score was 6-1 in favor of the Big Green, but many of the individual matches were tight making for a close match.
The lone victory on the evening came at third singles for the Red Foxes. Sophomore Nicolas Pisecky (Luasanne, Switzerland) defeated Justin Tzou, 6-3, 7-5. With the win, Pisecky rebounded from a three set loss at Brown; he has won nine of his last 10 matches.
At fifth singles, sophomore Landon Greene (Palos Verdes, Calif.) dropped a close match to Chris Ho. Ho bested Greene 6-4, 7-5. Greene now stands at 4-2 overall at fifth singles this season.
Looking ahead, Marist will play 11 dual matches before the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships. The contests will span over just 20 days, as the Red Foxes are seeking their second straight conference title.
The Red Foxes will next travel to the west coast for a spring break training trip from March 14 until March 22. The team will workout in Los Angeles, Calif. Upon their return from the west coast, Marist will host a scrimmage on March 25 against Concordia and face UConn on March 26. Both matches will start at 3:30 p.m. and be held at the East Campus Tennis Pavilion.
