ALBANY, N.Y. - The Marist women's tennis team was defeated by the University of Albany 7-0 on Sunday afternoon. The road dual match dropped the Red Foxes record to 0-4 this season.
Freshman Erin McCarthy (Salem, N.J.) was the closest to an individual victory for the Red Foxes. She fell at first singles to Susan Ma in three sets. The final score favord Ma, 6-3, 4-6, 10-7.
After sophomore Jeannie Lukin (Kinderhook, N.Y.) went three sets against Colgate, she fell in straight sets on Sunday to Melissa Coughlin at fifth singles. Lukin fell 6-2, 6-1 to her Great Dane counterpart.
Next weekend, Marist will play two matches at West Point. On Saturday, March 7 the Red Foxes will face the Black Knights of Army at 3 p.m. and on Sunday, March 8 Marist will face Quinnipiac; both are non-conference dual matches.
