Jared Jordan To Play For Golden State Warriors' Summer League Team

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - Marist graduate Jared Jordan will suit up for the Golden State Warriors' 2009 NBA Summer League team in Las Vegas, Nev. The Warriors will play five games starting on July 10 and ending July 16.

Last season, Jordan played for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBA Development League. He led the league in assists per 48 minutes (13.7) while ranking second in assists per game (8.8) and assist-to-turnover ratio (3.29). Jordan set the franchise record for assists in a game by recording 21 in a 122-116 win over Fort Wayne on Feb. 26. He also averaged 10.6 points and a team-high 1.9 steals per game.

Jordan was the 45th overall selection of the 2007 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Clippers. In September of 2007, his rights were drafted from the Clippers to the New York Knicks. After playing for the Knicks in the 2007 preseason, Jordan spent the 2007-08 season competing for Lietuvos Rytas in Lithuania. He played for the Phoenix Suns' summer league team before going to training camp with the New Orleans Hornets in the fall of 2008.

In his career at Marist, Jordan led the nation in assists in both his junior and senior seasons. He is the program's all-time assists leader with 813, and helped lead the Red Foxes to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference regular-season title, a victory in the Postseason NIT and a program-record 25 victories in the 2006-07 campaign.
