BOSTON, MASS. - Four men from the Marist track and field team posted new personal best times during the Valentine Invitational on Saturday at Boston University. Of the personal best times, junior Patrick Duggan (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) saw the largest change in his personal best time in the 5,000-meter run with a mark of 15:30.46.
In the 3,000-meter run, Curtis Jensen and junior Zak Smetana (Niskayuna, N.Y.) lowered their personal best marks by four and six seconds respectively. Jensen finished with a time of 8:32.49, while Smetana ran to a total time of 8:47.95. Jensen narrowly missed an IC4A qualification time in the event.
Sophomore Matthew Flint (Queensbury, N.Y.) was two seconds shy of an IC4A qualification time in the mile run. He finished with a time of 4:16.98.
The Marist track and field programs will return to the NYC Armory for the 2010 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships on Friday, Feb. 19.
