PITTSBURGH, PA. - The Marist men's swimming and diving team stands in ninth place overall at the 2010 ECAC Championship at Trees Pool on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh. The Red Foxes have totaled 141 points, but are just 16 points behind the seventh place team, the University of Pittsburgh.
The men's 200-yd. medley relay team finished 12th overall with a time of 1:37.25. The foursome consisted of junior Joshua Sklanka (Watertown, Conn.), freshman Kevin Shoemaker (Saucon Valley, Pa.) and freshman Charlie Pataffi (Middletown, N.J.).
Shoemaker won the B Final of the 400-yd. individual medley. His final time was 4:07.28, good for ninth place overall. Shannon took 11th overall in the same event with. His finishing time was 4:13.61.
The Red Foxes put two individuals in the B Final of the 200-yd. freestyle as junior Steven Vendetta (South Windsor, Conn.) finished 10th with a time of 1:42.20, while freshman Stephen Miller (Downington, Pa.) took 12th. He finished with an overall time of 1:42.81.
Marist finished fifth in the 800-yd. freestyle relay with an overall time of 6:52.83.The relay team was made up of junior Leo Draham (Blue Bell, Pa.), senior Kevin Quinn (Neponsit, N.Y.), Miller and Vendetta.
The swimming and diving programs will conclude at the ECAC Championship hosted by the University of Pittsburgh on Sunday at 10 a.m.
