POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist baseball team is currently ranked ninth in the Northeast Region, according to the Ping!Baseball Regional Rankings. The Red Foxes are 9-8 on the season, and have won six of their last seven. Included in this recent hot stretch was an 11-10 win over Villanova - the top-ranked team in the region - on March 20.
The Northeast Region consists of all of New England, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware and Washington, D.C. The region encompasses a total of 69 schools.
Marist is currently the top-rated Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference school in the poll. The Red Foxes will return to action this weekend when they face Manhattan, which is currently ranked 10th in the poll, for a three-game series this weekend at McCann Baseball Field. The teams will play a Saturday doubleheader starting at noon, and a single game on Sunday which will also start at noon. The series begins conference play for the Red Foxes, also kicks off the team's home schedule.
