WALNUT, Calif. - Senior William Griffin (Columbia, Conn.) and junior Arquimedes DelaCruz (Wantagh, N.Y.) of the Marist men's track and field team qualified for the IC4A Championships at the Mt. SAC Relays late Thursday.
Griffin ran a time of 30:40.20 in the 10,000-meter run, as he placed 25th in the Olympic Development/Elite section. He bested the qualifying standard by nearly 28 seconds. DelaCruz was 12th out of 24 entrants in the Open B race of the 3,000-meter steeplechase, as he ran 9:08.58 and topped his season-best by nearly two seconds.
Also competing for the Red Foxes was sophomore Ken Walshak (Babylon, N.Y.), who ran 31:50.68 in the 10,000-meter run, which put him 24th in the Open A section.
The rest of the Marist men's team will be in action this weekend at the Larry Ellis Invitation in Princeton, N.J.
