Marist's Fede Named PFL Defensive Player Of The Week

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.  – Fifth-year senior defensive end Terrence Fede (Nyack, N.Y.) of the Marist football team was named Pioneer Football League (PFL) Defensive Player of the Week for his role in the Red Foxes' 37-0 shutout of league foe Valparaiso on Saturday.

Fede led the Red Foxes with eight tackles (two solo) in the contest. He recorded two sacks and forced a fumble as Marist recorded its first shutout in four years. The Red Foxes held the Crusaders to 169 yards of total offense and 12 first downs, and forced three turnovers.

This is the third time in Fede's career that he has earned a PFL weekly award.

On the season, Fede leads Marist in both sacks (five) and tackles for loss (six-and-a-half). He is fourth on the team with 26 tackles, and also has two pass break-ups. He ranks third in program history with 22.5 career sacks.

Marist has now won three straight, and stands at 3-2 overall and 2-0 in PFL play. The Red Foxes will next be in action on Saturday at San Diego (3-2, 2-0). Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. Eastern. Marist, San Diego and Butler are the only three undefeated teams in PFL play.
