POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Fifth-year senior defensive end Terrence Fede (Nyack, N.Y.) of the Marist football team was named a Second Team Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) All-American by the Associated Press on Wednesday.
In 2013, Fede set Marist's single-season program record with 13 sacks, which gave him a program-record 30.5 sacks for his career. He leads the FCS in sacks per game. Fede also registered 18 tackles for loss, four pass break-ups and a forced fumble. Fede had at least half a sack in 9 of 11 games, and at least half a tackle for loss in 10 of 11 games.
Earlier this month, Fede was named Pioneer Football League Defensive Player of the Year. He also finished sixth nationally in the voting for the Buck Buchanan Award, which is presented to the best defensive player in the FCS.
Fede's efforts helped the Marist football team win a share of the PFL championship for the first time in the Red Foxes' five years in the league. With an 8-3 overall record, Marist achieved its highest win total in its 36 years as a varsity program.
