POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist women's tennis team cruised to a 5-2 win on Monday afternoon as the Red Foxes opened their spring home schedule versus Hofstra. A trio of Red Foxes, Joana Sun (Mansfield, Mass.), Karly Pang (Kaneohe, Hawaii) and Melissa Carlay (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) led the way with wins in both singles and doubles action.

After winning their first doubles match versus Hofstra's Sarah Bowen and Malissa Gilanchi 8-3, Pang and Sun split up for competition at first and third singles, respectively. Pang defeated Sonia Tsay 6-4, 6-2, while Sun defeated Gilanchi 6-1, 7-5.

Carlay earned her doubles win after partnering with fellow freshman Kaye Eastman (Grand Rapids, Mich.) and besting the Pride's number three duo of Paige Polizois and Bianca Derrick 8-4. In singles action, Carlay would later defeat Polizois 6-1, 6-4.

Junior Marielle Campbell (Patterson, N.Y.) won Marist's fourth singles' point of the afternoon with a straight set decision over Derrick, 6-0, 6-1.

Senior Kelsey Raynor (Garden City, N.Y.) and sophomore Sabrina Tahir (Yonkers, N.Y.) made it a clean sweep for the Red Foxes in doubles as they beat Tsay and Lopez, 8-4.

The Red Foxes be back in action on Wednesday April 3 at Fordham. The non-conference match is slated to begin at 1:30 p.m.
