POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - Marist Men's and Women's Rowing will each be sending a boat to compete in the 51st Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston, MA this weekend. The regatta takes place on the Charles River flanked by the Cambridge and Boston shorelines.
The course begins in the Charles River basin and traverses under seven bridges, around four bends, and over 4800 meters (3 miles). It is a regatta that attracts thousands of spectators and participants; this year it will have 2,243 boats and 10,860 athletes competing.
The Red Fox women will kick off the weekend with their race on Saturday. They will compete in the Women's Club 4 event set to start at 1:35pm as bow number 14. The men will compete on Sunday in the Men's Collegiate 8 at 3:31pm. They will be racing as bow number 18.
Both boats secured their spot in this year's regatta with a guaranteed entry from the 2014 regatta- a guaranteed entry is granted to all boats that finish in the top half of their category.
