LAWRENCEVILLE, New Jersey – The Marist men's swimming and diving team fell to the Rider Broncs, 185-108, in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference meet Nov. 14. It was the Red Foxes first MAAC defeat of the 2015-16 season.
Senior captain Josh Dodway set a personal best in the 1-meter dive, racking up 323.20 points and leading a 1-2 Marist finish. Sophomore Peter Gallino finished in second place with 291.80 points. Gallino had 274.70 points on the 3-meter board to set a new personal best, while Dodway finished second in the event with 274.70 points.
In the swimming end of the pool, junior Manuel Garcia finished second in the 100- (51.82 seconds) and 200-yard (1:56.79) butterfly events. In a pair of freestyle events freshman Daniel Knoll placed second at 50 yards with a time of 21.43 seconds and was third in the 100-yard event after clocking in at 46.85 seconds.
The Red Foxes will travel to Baltimore, Maryland for the H2ounds Invitational on December 4 and 5. Marist will face two MAAC opponents in Iona and Saint Peter's and will also compete against host Loyola over the weekend.
