POUGHKEEPSIE, New York -- The men's and women's track and field teams will begin their outdoor seasons on March 25th at the Raleight Relays in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The men were recently picked to finish sixth, while the woman were picked to finish seventh, in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Preseason Coaches Poll released on Wednesday. 

Key returners on the men's side include senior Hakim Cunningham who advanced to the semi-finals of the 60 meter hurdles at the IC4A Championship during indoor season as well as placed 23rd in the 110 meter hurdles at the IC4A during the 2015 outdoor season and broke school records in the 110 meter and 400 meter hurdles in 2015 as well. Sophomore Dietrich Mosel is coming off an indoor season that saw him place sixth and fifth in the 3,000 and 5,000 meter runs at the 2015 MAAC Indoor Championship, just the second athlete in school history to place in two events MAAC's. Freshman Brian Henderson, junior captainTim Johnson, freshman Andrew Burns and junior Stefan Morton are also poised for strong outdoor campaigns after an indoor season that saw them break a 7-year-old school record in the distance medley relay and become the first relay team in school history to qualify for an IC4A final.

The women are lead by senior Kristen Traub who placed sixth in her section and seventeenth overall in the 3,000 meter run at the ECAC Championship during the previous indoor season. Sophomore Mara Schiffhauer is coming off a third place finish in the 5,000 meter run at the 2016 MAAC Indoor Championships, while freshman Debbie Boerke is looking to improve on an indoor season that saw her break four school records in her first four career meets. Junior Molly Weeks is looking to have a big outdoor season after Mononucleosis ended her indoor season early.
