POUGHKEEPSIE, NY -Â Marist track & field delivered a strong all-around performance close to home this past weekend, competing at the Vassar April Twilight hosted at Weinberg Field on April 25.
The Red Foxes combined event victories, personal-best performances, and dominant showings in the field to highlight a successful day in Poughkeepsie.
On the women's side, Evelyn Hoak produced one of the most impressive performances of the meet. Hoak claimed victory in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a personal-best time of 11:52.61—nearly a full minute faster than her previous mark.
Marist distance runners also excelled in the 5,000 meters, where every competitor recorded either a personal or season best. Abigail Kowalczyk led the way with a second-place finish in 17:46.36, followed closely by Julia Radjenovic in third (18:03.71). Rachael Turek added a personal best, while Nora White posted a season-best effort.
In the hurdles, Madison LaCreta secured a victory in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.62.
The Red Foxes dominated the javelin, sweeping the top three spots. Julia Kropo took first with a throw of 31.53 meters, while Grace Murphy (29.67m) and Elena Ramos (28.75m) completed the podium sweep. Murphy added a second-place finish in the shot put to round out a strong day in the throws.
On the men's side, Isaac Gross delivered a standout performance in the 5,000 meters, using a late surge to earn a come-from-behind victory in a personal-best time of 15:17.24. Teammates Chase Kober and Ryan Wisker also posted personal-best efforts in the event, underscoring a strong showing from the distance group.
Elsewhere on the track, Arbri Halilaj placed second in the 100-meter dash with a season-best time of 11.44, while Matthew Ferreri recorded a season-best 4:02.83 in the 1,500 meters.
In the field events, Ramsey Heredia earned a second-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 6.40 meters, leading multiple top finishes for Marist.
With victories across events and continued improvement throughout the roster, the Red Foxes carried momentum from their recent competitions into another productive outing.
