POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Senior diver
Peter Gallino qualified for the NCAA Zone Qualifier Diving Championships as Marist took down Fordham for the first time in three years by a score of 137-100 on Oct. 19 in McCann Natatorium. The Red Foxes are 2-0 following the victory in their home opener.
Gallino racked up 354.82 points in the 3-meter dive to earn a spot at the national championship meet, which will take place March 5-7 at Rutgers University. His score of 332.85 points at one meter was a little more than six points shy of tying the program record set by Brian Bolstad in 2010. Gallino placed first on both boards and was followed by sophomore
Raislan Aiken, who came in second in the two diving events.
In the swimming races sophomore
Evan Nilsson was a double winner, touching first in the 1,000-yard freestyle (9:38.24) and 200-yard backstroke (1:52.98). Freshman
Murray Coueslant registered three top two finishes, winning the 200-yard butterfly in 1:53.71 and coming in second in the 200-yard freestyle. He was also a member of Marist's second place 400-yard 'A' medley relay team.

-Aiken's second place scores were 267.97 points at one meter and 284.85 at three meters.
-Nilsson led a 1-2-3 Marist finish in the 1,000-yard freestyle with freshman
John Hurley and sophomore
Michael O'Donovan placing second and third, respectively.
-O'Donovan was on the other end of a 1-2-3 Red Foxes order of finish in the 500-yard freestyle, placing first after clocking in at 4:43.32. Hurley and junior
Miguel Madeira followed O'Donovan in second and third, respectively.
-Fordham junior Isaiah Magsino edged Marist freshman
Jackson Klarsfeld by .04s in the 200-yard individual medley.
-Rams sophomore Joseph Vizza took the top spot in the 200-yard freestyle over Coueslant by just .19s.
