NEW HAVEN, Connecticut - Javier Restrepo and the Marist men's tennis team wrapped up play at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) regional tournament Saturday morning in New Haven, Connecticut.Â
Restrepo, the last man standing for the Red Foxes in the ITA's, advanced to the round of 32 and drew Army West Point's Michael Nguyen. Nguyen was able to defeat Restrepo 6-4 in the first set and then 6-2 in the second set.
"Javi played a very good first set and was within one-point of going up 5-4 which could've made the difference," said head coach
Tim Smith. "He's getting better everyday, we'd love to see the fall season go until December with the way he's been playing."
Up next the Red Foxes will head back to Connecticut for the Connecticut State Open from Friday, November 3th to Sunday, November 5th.
