Women's Basketball Ships Up To Boston To Face Northeastern

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist women's basketball team will be on the road for the first time this Sunday, when they face Northeastern in Boston, MA. The game is scheduled for 2 p.m. in the Cabot Center.

SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
Backed by Gabby Giacone's sixth career double-double and Loren Lassiter's 15 rebounds, the Northeastern women's basketball team dominated both sides of the court on Friday night against Fairfield, riding comfortably to the 63-43 victory at Cabot Center. The Huskies start the season 1-2, but that record could have easily been 3-0. The Huskies lost their first two games of the season by a combined four points. In their opener, they were defeated by Boston University by a final score of 74-73. They then took Providence into overtime, narrowly losing that game as well, 98-95.

LAST TIME AGAINST THE HUSKIES
The Red Foxes lost to the Huskies 58-51 back during the 2014-2015 season. The Huskies would go on a 10-3 from the 12:41 mark of the second half and would not look back. Northeastern assisted on 15 out of their 20 made field goals.

PREVIOUS OUTING
In their last game of the first homestead of the season, the Red Foxes defeated the Holy Cross Crusaders, 85-74. The team started out slowly and the Crusaders took advantage and went on a 7-0 run. Marist was able to pick up some momentum and put up 23 points in the second quarter. Sophomore Rebekah Hand and freshmen Allie Best each had triples, with Best's giving the Red Foxes the lead. This was the program's first ever win against Holy Cross after the series started 7-0 in favor of the Crusaders.
