Women's Swimming and Diving Falls to Fairfield 152.5-135.5

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist women's swimming and diving team fell to the Fairfield Stags 152.5-135.5 in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference dual meet on Saturday afternoon.

With the loss, the Red Foxes drop to 2-2 (2-1 MAAC) on the season and suffer their first MAAC dual meet loss since they lost to Rider in 2009. 

In the pool, senior Georgia Goldman picked up two wins in both the 100 yard backstroke and the 50 yard freestyle and added a second place finish in the 100 yard freestyle. Freshman Georgeanne Zimmerman picked up a first place finish in the 100 yard backstroke.

On the diving board, Marist went 1-2-3 in both the 1 meter and 3 meter, with freshman Esabelle Gervasio placing first in the 3 meter and junior Lauren Katz picking up the win in the 1 meter.

Marist returns to action on Saturday, Dec. 2nd and Sunday, Dec. 3rd at the H2Ounds Invitational where they will swim against host Loyola University along with Saint Peter's and Iona in Baltimore, MD.
