ORLANDO, Florida – The Marist men's basketball team opens play in the AdvoCare Invitational on Thanksgiving night, when the Red Foxes face nationally-ranked West Virginia of the Big 12 Conference. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:30 p.m., and the game will be televised on ESPNEWS.
The Red Foxes arrived in Orlando early Tuesday afternoon.
On Wednesday, Marist held practice sessions at the HP Field House, where all tournament games will be contested, as well as at a nearby practice court. All eight teams in the tournament attended a Wednesday night reception where Thanksgiving Dinner was served.
Tournament History
This is the 12
th edition of the AdvoCare Invitational, and the third time Marist has participated in it. The Red Foxes finished third out of eight teams in 2006. That year included the program's first win over a Big 10 school (Minnesota) in program history, and Jared Jordan was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player. In 2012, the Red Foxes recorded their first victory against an SEC opponent (Vanderbilt).

The pre-game show will start 15 minutes prior to tip-off for each game
