DAYTON, Ohio – The Marist football team suffered a 36-17 defeat at Dayton in a Pioneer Football League contest on Saturday at Welcome Stadium.
Dayton jumped out to 30-0 halftime lead, and the Red Foxes held the Flyers out of the second half. Red-shirt junior
Mike White set a program record with 62 pass attempts.

- Dayton drove inside the Red Zone on its first two drives, which ended in 19- and 31-yard field goals by Allen Waltz.
- The Flyers scored a pair of touchdowns in the first quarter on a one-yard run by Cole Kaparos and a 38-yard pass from Alex Jeske to Adam Trautman.
- Dayton scored on its first five drives. The Flyers added an 11-yard touchdown run by Jeske and a 30-yard field goal by Waltz to take a 30-0 halftime lead.

- In the fourth quarter, Waltz's 21-yard field goal capped a 12-play, 81-yard drive in 7:08.
- Marist answered with a five-yard touchdown run by White, set up with a 39-yard completion to Christian when he wrestled the ball away from Dayton's Christian Searles.
- Waltz's fifth field goal of the game, a 21-yarder with 4:14 remaining, closed out the scoring.
