POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist women's soccer team defeated Delaware State 3-0 in its 2017 season opener Friday night at Tenney Stadium.

Brianna Robinson started the scoring, converting a goal from a cross by freshman
Sarah Haselkamp at 16'. The second goal of the game was scored off a header by freshman
Annika Nielsen from a cross by sophomore
Keri Bradley at 31'. The lone goal of the second half came off a free kick from 30 yards out by sophomore
Alexa Svensson at 53'.
Inside the Numbers:
- It was a night of firsts for the Red Foxes including Haselkamp recording her first career assist at 16'
- Another first included Nielson netting her first career goal at 31'
- Robinson and Svensson both recorded their first goals of the season at 16' and 53', respectively

Marist outshot the Hornets on the night 24-4. If you combine the two teams previous meetings, the Red Foxes have outshot Delaware State 44-9, outscoring the Hornets 10-1.
