POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist men's soccer team honored its seniors and wrapped up non-conference play with a 3-1 win over the St. Bonaventure Bonnies on Sunday afternoon at Tenney Stadium.
SUMMARY:
After a scoreless first half, the Red Foxes got on the board first in the 55
th minute when junior co-captain
Simon Lund Jorgensen carried the ball into the offensive zone and played a beautiful through ball to sophomore
David Nkansah-Siriboe who found the back of the net for the 1-0 lead. The Bonnies answered back 53 seconds later when a ball deflected to an open player who hit a shot that found the bottom right corner. Fifteen minutes later, Marist regained the lead when senior
Drew Sullivan intercepted a St. Bonaventure pass and found junior
Abby Elsayed on the right side. Elsayed's cross found junior
Bruce Jeter who barried the ball into the net for the 2-1 lead. Just over a minute later, the Red Foxes' extended their lead to 3-1 when Jeter found Elsayed who played the ball to freshman
Allen Gavilanes who ripped a shot past the keeper for the game's final goal.

- Marist outshot the Bonnies 26-8 & 15-4 in shots on goal
- St. Bonaventure goalie Luke Iakobellis had 12 saves while Red Fox goalies Mark Rajovic and Tyler Utheim combined for 3
