BRONX, New York – Men's swimming and diving dominated their meet against Fordham 156-81, winning all thirteen events they entered for what is believed to be the first time in school history.
Diver
Raislan Aiken had one of the best individual highlights of the evening, winning the 1- and 3- meter dives with scores of 302.02 and 271.50. His 1-meter score qualified him for the NCAA Diving Championships in March.
The Red Foxes kicked off the meet with a win in the 400 medley relay from the team of
Ryan Kaplan,
Edward Oser, Paval Makarchuk and
Daniel Knoll.
Knoll built off his strong performance from Canisius and won the 50- and 100-yard freestyle events. His 100 freestyle time was a current MAAC best time at 46.33 seconds.
Michael O'Donovan continued his winning ways in distance events, picking up wins in the 500- and 1000-yard freestyle.
Murray Coueslant and
Jackson Klarsfeld also won two events on the day. Coueslant took gold in the 200-yard butterfly and freestyle while Klarsfeld got the win in the 200-yard breaststroke and IM.
Kaplan added to his strong freshman start with a win in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:54.37.
The Red Foxes finished the evening off with a win in the 400 yard relay from the team of
Gregory Violette,
Edward Oser,
Mark Miller and
Murray Coueslant.
Marist returns home to host MAAC defending champs Rider on Saturday October 27 at 5 p.m.
