POUGHKEEPSIE, New York- The Marist Red Foxes men's and women's swimming and diving teams will compete against the Rider Broncs at home pool this Saturday, October 27
th at 5:00 p.m.
Last week, the men's team won every event they entered and successfully beat Fordham 156-81. Diver
Raislan Aiken was one of the most impressive team members of the night, winning the 1- and 3- meter dives. He qualified for the NCAA Diving Championships in March with his performance on the 1-meter.
The women's team lost to Fordham with a score of 148-98.
Esabelle Gervasio continued her successful season by winning the 1-meter with a score of 227.5 and the 3-meter with a score of 272.10. Marist finished the meet on a high note by winning the 400-yard freestyle relay. Team members included
Veronica Stureborg,
Juliet Nowak,
Emily Swigart and
Georgeanne Zimmerman.
This weekend promises a competative meet for the men. Rider is ranked 38
th in the College Swimming Mid Major Poll with Marist close behind at 44
th. The defending MAAC champions, Rider University men's swimming and diving team defeated Marist, 168-132 during dual meet action last season. Last season, the Rider women's team lost to Marist during their final home dual meet and they finished 5
th place in the MAAC championship.
