Women's Soccer Hosts MAAC Semifinals

No. 2 Red Foxes Take on No. 3 Siena

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Having earned a first round bye by claiming the second seed for the MAAC tournament, Marist will play their first match of the playoffs tomorrow at 7 p.m. Siena comes into the game after winning in overtime against No. 6 Quinnipiac.

  • The Red Foxes defeated Siena on October 17 to clinch their berth in the playoffs.
  • Katey Samarro and Nicole Sasso each scored goals to lift Marist 2-0 over the Saints.
  • The Red Foxes held the advantage 7-4 in shots on goal.
  • Goalkeeper Abigail Renaud made four saves compared to Siena's Taylor Dorado with five.

The winner of this game will head to the MAAC Championships on November 4. They will play the winner of No. 1 Monmouth vs. No. 4 Niagara, and the highest remaining seed will host.
