POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist women's soccer team picked up a 3-1 bounce-back win at home Saturday afternoon against Saint Peter's. With the win, the Red Foxes improve to 6-5-1 overall and 4-1 in the MAAC. Saint Peter's falls to 2-9 overall and 2-3 in conference play.
Before the game, the Red Foxes honored their senior class with a special ceremony for
Sarah Haselkamp,
Hope Quinonez,
Kristen Reilly, and
Alexis Prisco.

- After applying much of the pressure in the first 30 minutes of action, the Red Foxes broke through after a corner kick from Alexa Svensson deflected out and found the foot of Biana Furcie. Furci knocked it home low to give Marist a 1-0 lead.
- Saint Peter's responded right away, a well-placed corner kick to the back post found the foot of Mia Greene who tied it up at 1-1.
- The Red Foxes jumped ahead in the 57th minute after a low cross from Victoria Colatosti deflected off a Saint Peter's player and into the back of the net, putting Marist ahead 2-1.
- Marist added another goal in the 78th minute, Svensson's corner kick found the head of Nicole Sasso near the back post and put the Red Foxes comfortably ahead.
- Furci has now scored a goal in two consecutive contests.
- Pouring the pressure on, the Red Foxes outshot Saint Peter's 21-4 and 12-1 in shots on goal.
- Marist is 3-1-0 at home.
The Red Foxes now prepare to host the Monmouth Hawks on Wednesday, October 10
th. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Tenney Stadium.
