NEW HAVEN, Connecticut – Marist men's Tennis competed at the Connecticut State Open this past weekend. Marist faced several strong teams from the Northeast region including Boston College, Yale, UConn, Sacred Heart and Quinnipiac.

- Carlos Moreno picked up a singles win Friday against Quinnpiac's Jack Alexander 6-4, 6-2. He would fall in the next round to Sacred Heart's Bryan Einstoss 7-6, 6-2.
- Kian Yazdi defeated Sacred Heart's Ayman Khan 6-2, 6-2. He would be defeated in the next round to Boston College's Santiago Montufar 6-3, 6-4
- Â Lars Schouten and Oxner opened doubles play in the "Bradon Wai Draw" bracket with an 8-6 win over Sacred Heart's Del Valle and Sause.
- The duo of Schouten and Oxner followed up that victory with a win over Quinnipiac's Patrick Cachapero and Alester Magalit 8-5.
- Schouten and Oxner would be bested by Uconn's Jack McLister and John Michael Holtmann 8-5 in the semifinal round.

Marist will close out its fall competition schedule and travel to New Providence, Rhode Island to play in the Brown Invitational November 9-11.
