POUGHKEEPSIE, New York- The Marist men's tennis team will kick off its spring schedule against MAAC rival Saint Peter's in Jersey City, New Jersey Thursday afternoon. The match will start at 3:30 p.m.
SCHEDULE NOTES AND QUOTES
The Marist men's tennis team is coming into their first dual match selected second place in the MAAC preseason poll.
"This spring we will play teams from seven different conferences. In my tenure at Marist we will now have played against teams in tournaments and dual matches in 27 of the 32 NCAA Division I conferences," Smith said.
Additionally, the Red Foxes will compete against teams form the Patriot League, Ivy League, Colonial Athletic Association, Big East, Atlantic Sun, American Athletic, and the MAAC.
"This is a senior laden team with five out of the six seniors in the top seven spots and five of the top six more than likely playing in the doubles' lineup," said head coachÂ
Tim Smith. "With our fall tournament schedule and spring dual matches I think we have put our team in a position to strongly contend for the MAAC Championship."
SCOUTING THE PEACOCKS
St. Peter's has had a tough start to their 2018 season, with a 1-5 record and 0-1 record in the MAAC. They are coming off a home loss to Loyola (Md.), 5-2.
LAST SEASON
The Red Foxes finished last season with a 17-4 overall record and 6-1 mark in conference play. The second seed in the MAAC Tournament, they defeated Quinnipiac in the semifinals before falling to number one seeded Monmouth in the MAAC finals. The Marist men's tennis team has made 12 NCAA tournament appearances in the program's history.

th at 10:00am. Colgate men's tennis team has started this season hot with a 4-2 overall record and are riding a two-game winning streak.
