Men's Lacrosse Opens MAAC Play at Detroit

The Red Foxes Wrap Up Their Road Stretch

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – Men's lacrosse opens up Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play at Detroit Mercy. Faceoff is scheduled for 12:00 pm.
 
LAST OUTING
Marist fell to UMBC 7-4 last Saturday. Gannon Morrison scored two goals in the third quarter to make it a 6-4 game. The Red Foxes had a man up opportunity to make it a one goal game, but were unable to capitalize and the Retrievers held onto the lead.
 
SCOUTING Detroit Mercy
The Titans are 2-5 on the year but have had close games against Notre Dame and Ohio State. Matthew Vangalen leads the team with 14 points coming from six goals and eight assists. Goalie Logan Shamblin was named MAAC Rookie of the week for his play against Air Force. The freshman ranks second in the MAAC in total saves with 75.
 
LAST MATCHUP
Marist edged Detroit Mercy 7-6 at Tenney Stadium last year. The Titans scored four goals in the fourth quarter to mount a comeback. Detroit Mercy took a shot in the final seconds but it went wide and Marist held on for the win.

UP NEXT
The Red Foxes return home to play Manhattan College Saturday March 24. Face off is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
