Men's Tennis Hits Road For Matches Against Yale, Fairfield & NJIT

Red Foxes Start Busy Weekend Of Matches Saturday Morning

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist men's tennis team returns to action for the first time in over two weeks as they travel to New Haven, Connecticut to face Yale, NJIT, and Fairfield on Saturday, March 10th and Sunday, March 11th
  • Fairfield, March 10th – 9 a.m.
  • Yale, March 10th – 3 p.m.
  • NJIT, Match 11th – 9 a.m.
LAST TIME OUT
The Marist men's tennis team picked up a road win over the Colgate Raiders, 4-3, Sunday, February 25th in non-conference action. With the win, the Red Foxes improved to 2-0 in dual matches so far this spring season. The Red Foxes won the doubles point from the second and third position, and then clinched the match with wins at the third, fourth, and fifth singles spots.

SCOUTING FAIRFIELD
Fairfield enters the weekend with a 4-4 dual match record. The Stags were previous winners of three straight matches before falling to Army West point, 5-2, this past Sunday. Before their match against the Black Knights, Fairfield had bested St. Bonaventure, UConn, and Sacred Heart.

SCOUTING YALE
The Bulldogs serve as host of the weekend tournament and are coming off a 4-3 win over Elon in their last match. Yale is currently riding a four-match win streak and are 6-4 overall in dual matches this season. Along with defeating Elon, Yale has bested William & Mary, Brown, and Monmouth in its last four.

SCOUTING NJIT
The Highlanders are 5-2 overall and are coming off a 6-1 win over Binghamton this past Sunday. NJIT had lost its previous two matches before that win over the Bearcats to Brown and Army West Point.

UP NEXT
The Red Foxes will have another few weeks off from matches as they travel for their final road match against Harvard on Saturday, March 24th before returning home for three-straight matches in Poughkeepsie against UConn, Hofstra, and Army West Point.
