LOUDONVILLE, New York – The Marist softball team was swept in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference doubleheader at Siena on Tuesday. The Red Foxes fell 2-0 in game one, and 2-1 in game two.
Game One – Siena 2, Marist 0
Summary
- Siena had runners on first and second in the first, and loaded the bases in the third, but junior Megan Beiermeister recorded strikeouts to end both innings.
- The Red Foxes' lone hit came on a single by freshman Lauren Beal in the third inning.
- With two outs in the bottom of the fourth, Patricia Kalesse tripled. She scored two batters later on an infield error, which broke the scoreless tie.
- In the sixth, Jasmin Ortiz's RBI double brought home Brooke Taylor.

- Beiermeister (10-7) struck out seven in a complete game. She allowed just one earned run.
- Butts (6-8) struck out five, and allowed one hit and one walk.

Game Two – Siena 2, Marist 1
Summary
- After a scoreless first three innings, senior Miranda Perez, sophomore Ali Milam, and senior Kourtney Paul all drew walks in the top of the fourth. Beal's sacrifice fly brought home Perez with the game's first run.
- The score remained 1-0 until the bottom of the sixth. The Saints loaded the bases with none out, and Ortiz and Madysen Cossack both scored on wild pitches.
- Junior Brooke Peterson then recorded three consecutive outs with runners at second and third to keep Marist's deficit at one.
- Senior Kourtney Paul doubled to lead off the seventh, but the Red Foxes were unable to tie the game.
Key Stats
- Maddie McMahon (5-4) pitched a complete game for Siena. She gave up just two hits, and struck out six.
- Junior Kallen Leeseberg (4-8), who shut out Siena through five innings, took the loss.
Records
Marist is 19-25 overall and 6-6 in the MAAC. Siena is 13-19 on the season and 8-4 in MAAC play.
