POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist women's swimming and diving team is one of the most accomplished programs in the history of Marist. The women's squad has captured 22 conference championships: 18 MAAC, two Metro and two Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference. From 2009 to 2017, the Red Foxes won 42 consecutive regular season MAAC wins. Their 2014 MAAC Championship was not only another major accomplishment for the team but it provided Marist with its 100th MAAC Championship.
 
Women's swimming and diving dominated the event, winning with a total of 801 points over the three day competition. Second place Rider earned 595 points. This would be the Red Foxes fifth consecutive MAAC Championship. The team would go on to win three more after that.
 
Four athletes would be crowned individual MAAC Champions. Senior Bonnie Orr led the distance swimmers with wins in the 1000 yard freestyle (10:15.18) and 1650 yard freestyle (17:07.02).
Senior Emily Miles claimed first in the 100 yard Butterfly (56.71). Senior Madeline Arciello took the gold in the 200 yard freestyle (1:52.35). Junior Kimberly Tobias claimed the top spot in the 3-Meter Dive with a score of 237.95. Tobias also placed second on the 1-Meter to secure the MAAC Diver of the Year Award.
 
The Red Foxes also picked up some crucial relay wins at MAAC Championships. A first place finish in a relay event provides the team with 40 points, which can give a team a big boost in the standings. The 200 Freestyle Relay squad of freshman Meredith Wurtz, Miles, Bridget Curley and Arciello won with a time of 1:34.32, the fastest time in school history. Wurtz, Curley, Colleen Lampe and Arciello teamed up to win the 400 yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 3:26.56.
 
Head Coach Larry VanWagner was named MAAC Women's Coach of the Year, his sixth time earning coach of the year recognition. In total, he been name MAAC coach of the year eight times.
