POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist women's soccer team and first-year head coach Leigh Howard have announced the addition of 12 new Red Foxes to the 2018 roster.

"Our staff is very excited to welcome in a talented group of freshman," said coach Howard. "We're excited to see what each of these 12 players will contribute to the team this coming season. This group brings with them a wealth of versatility that we know will make an impact throughout the lineup."

Brinley Chabot | Defense | North Kingstown High School | Bayside FC | North Kingstown, RI
Chabot attended North Kingstown High School and was on the honor roll all four years. She played on the ODP RI team from 2012 to 2015 (pool in 2013). She was a D1 varsity starter 2015, 2016, and 2017. She was a 2016 all-division player and in 2017 was selected first team all-state. She also ran indoor track in 2015.

Nicole Piperea | Midfield| Westhill High School | New York Soccer Club | Stamford, CT
Piperea attended Westhill High School in Stamford, CT where she was an AP and Honor Roll student. She was also a Varsity starting midfielder at Westhill and received FCIAC honorable mention. Piperea played for New York Soccer Club and held the title of Captain from 2013-2017. During her time at NYSC, she was named Most Valuable Player and led her team to many championships. She was recently selected to play on the Romanian Women's National Senior Team and Youth National U18 and U19 teams.

Abby Murphy | Midfield | Medway High School | FC Stars of MA, ECNL Comp | Medway, MA
Murphy attended Medway High School in Medway, CT. She was a four-year varsity starter and won numerous awards: League MVP, Team MVP, Player of the Year (Boston Globe, Milford Daily News, MetroWest News, and EMSCA) All New England (EMSCA and United Soccer Coaches), All State/All Star (EMSCA, Boston Globe, Boston Herald, Milford Daily News, and MetroWest News), NPL National Finalist (FC Stars of MA), NPL League Champion, 4 time Tri-Valley League champions, 3 year Eastern MA Champion, 3 year State Finalist, Team Captain, Team Defensive Player of the Year, Team Offensive Player of the Year. She was on the honor roll, treasurer of SADD, a member of Student Government, and Vice President of 40% club.

Chiara Di Palma | Forward| La Salle Academy | Bayside Bolts FC | Providence, RI
Di Palma attended La Salle Academy in Providence, RI. La Salle was Rhode Island HS D1 State Champions in 2015 & 2017, Rhode Island HS D1 State Finalists 2014 & 2016. She was selected to 2017 1st Team Rhode Island All State and in 2014 & 2015 Rhode Island D1 All Tournament. During her high school career, she scored 43 goals and tallied 21 assists. In 2014, 2015, 2016, & 2017 they were NPL Rhode Island State Champions and in 2015, 2016, & 2017 Rhode Island HS Indoor Track & Field State Champions. Murphy was also on the honor roll.

Victoria Colatosti | Forward | Northport High School | Brentwood, NY
Colatosti attended Northport High School in Brentwood, NY. She was on the honor roll and a member of the Academy of Finance and Language Honor Society. She was a four-year Varsity starter, team captain, two time All-County, second team All-Long Island. Colatosi was a leading goal scorer and two-time County Champion junior and senior year. She tallied 52 career goals and 28 assists.

Kaylin Sperley | Forward| Prairie High School | ISC Gunners Club G99A | Vancouver, WA
Sperley attended Prairie High School in Vancouver, WA. She was a Member of the National Society of High School Scholars and the PSPL Surf Academy from 2013 to 2016 (equivalent to ODP program). She was a four-time Greater Saint Helen's League (GSHL) All-League selection, three-time first team selection (twice at forward, once at mid-field), one-time second team selection as a freshman forward, three-time GSHL scholar athlete, two-time team offensive MVP, 2017 All-Region team, and won three consecutive league championships. She was also ran track and field. She set school records in the 100m (12.14), 200m (25.44), and the 40 yard dash (4.83). She was a two-time GSHL All-League track team (100m & 200m), three-time GSHL scholar athlete, two-time All-Region Track team (Columbian Newspaper), 2016 GSHL athlete of the year, and 2016 All-Region athlete of the year award. Sperley started playing for the ISC Gunners, the #1 ranked team in Washington, in 2016 and won the Washington State Cup Champions in 2017.

Haley Guertin | Forward| North Attleboro High School | FC Boston Scorpions ECNL | North Attleboro, MA
Guertin attended North Attleboro High School in North Attleboro, MA. She was a member of the National Honor Society and volunteered for Best Pals, Special Olympics, Hoops for Heart, and the Leo Club, and she ran track her freshman and sophomore years. She was a four-year varsity starter and senior captain. Guertin earned her 100th point in senior year, the second time someone accomplished this feat in school history. She was selected to the Massachusetts All-State First Team, was a three-time recipient of the Eastern-Massachusetts Coaches Association Pick, three-time Hockomock League All-Star, two-time leading scorer in Hockomock League, Hockomock Sports Underclassman of The Year sophomore year, three-time Sun Chronicle All-Star, two-time Davenport Division Champions as a junior and senior, MIAA Division 1 South Quarterfinalist senior year, and MIAA Division 1 South Semifinalists Sophomore year. She also tied school record for number of goals scored in one game (5) and holds the  school record for assists.

Ellie Davis | Defense| Paul D. Schreiber Senior High School | FC Fury DA | Port Washington, NY
Davis attended Paul D. Schreiber Senior High School and was on the Principal's Honor Roll. She was a Maccabi USA National Team alternate in 2017 and NPL defensive player of the year 2015. Davis' major is undecided.

Natalie Kelchner | Goalkeeper | Fairfield Ludlowe High School | CFC United ECNL | Fairfield, CT
Kelchner attended Fairfield Ludlowe High School. She was selected to the All FCIAC 2nd team and All FCIAC honorable mention. Her major is undecided.

Riley Abate | Defense| Avon High School | FSA FC United ECNL | Avon, CT
Abate attended Avon High School in Avon, CT and was a four-year honor roll member and scholar athlete. She was selected to the All-State Team in 2017, All-Conference Teams in 2016 & 2017, High School Captain and MVP 2017, Defensive Player of the Year in 2016, selected to Connecticut State Senior Bowl in 2017, and FSA State Champions in 2013 & 2014. She also ran track and was selected All-Conference Track in 2016, Track State Champions Class M in 2016, and owns the school 100m dash school record. She was selected to the All-Conference Tennis in 2015 and High School Tennis MVP in 2015.

Dana Grieme | Goalkeeper| Shattuck St Mary's High School | Shattuck St Mary Sabres - US Development Academy | Fairbault, MN
Grieme spent three years in the Shattuck Soccer Center of Excellence, including one year of play in the US Soccer Development Academy. Member of the prestigious Cum Laude Society. Excelled in a full honors and AP curriculum. Recognized with the French student of the year award.

Kayla Afflitto | Midfield | Pequannock Township High School | NJ Stallions Academy | Pompton Plains, NJ
Afflitto attended Pequannock Township High School in Pequannock, New Jersey where she played as a four year varsity starter as well as leading the state and high school in assists her senior year. Afflitto was selected for NJ Girls Soccer Coaches Association Recognition, All County Girls Soccer recipient, NJAAC First Team All-Conference recipient, and Morris County Honorable Mention as both a sophomore and Junior. Kayla was a member of Peer Leaders, Operation Smile, as well as being involved in honors and AP courses. Kayla was a recipient of The Suburban Women's Club Honorary Student. She was also a forward and midfielder on her club team, NJ Stallions where they placed two years in a row in Disney Showcase, Jefferson Cup, and PDA.
