LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. — Despite a commanding performance in possession and chances created, the Marist women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision at Rider on Wednesday night in its regular season finale.
The Red Foxes (6-7-5 overall, 5-2-5 MAAC) outshot the Broncs 17-4 and held a 55-45 edge in possession, but a second-half goal from Rider proved to be the difference.
Rider's Tess Ferrie scored the match's lone goal in the 49th minute, finishing off a pass from Noa Menzing to put the Broncs ahead early in the second half.
Marist pushed forward throughout the evening, generating five corner kicks and six shots on target. 
Julia Loncar led the Red Foxes with four shots, while 
Gabby Tirado and 
Ella Bryan each added three. Goalkeeper 
Samantha Graf made one save for the Red Foxes.
The match closes out the regular season for Marist, who clinched a berth into the MAAC Championships for the first time since 2022. The No. 6 seeded Red Foxes will take on No. 3 Canisius on Sunday in Buffalo on ESPN+.
