Sean Kennedy, Kristin Keller Greiner Selected For MAAC Honor Roll

Induction Ceremony Set For Sept. 15

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Sean Kennedy and Kristin Keller Greiner will be Marist's inductees into the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Honor Roll for 2018.

Each of the conference's member institutions will honor one male and one female from its basketball "family" as part of the 2018 induction class. A dinner will take place on Saturday, Sept. 15, at the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame Court of Dreams to recognize the Honor Roll inductees. Each honoree will be profiled in the game program for the 2019 MAAC Basketball Championships and will be featured in a video display at "The MAAC Experience."

Sean Kennedy (1998-2002)
Sean Kennedy is one of the top point guards in Marist men's basketball history. He holds the program's single-game record for assists, when he racked up 17 in the final home game of his collegiate career against Saint Peter's on Feb. 21, 2002. Sixteen years after his graduation, Kennedy still ranks in the program's top five all-time in both assists (670, third) and steals (212, fourth). He was named First Team All-MAAC after both his junior and senior seasons. As a senior, Kennedy was also named CollegeInsider.com's Mid-Major Most Valuable Player, First Team NABC All-District, and Second Team All-Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association. That year, Marist won a share of the MAAC regular-season championship for the first time in program history. Kennedy led the Red Foxes in scoring as a senior, and both assists and steals in his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons. He had a flair for the dramatic, as his half-court shot at the buzzer gave Marist a 70-67 victory over Siena at the McCann Center in the final game of the 1999-2000 regular season.

Kristin Keller Greiner (2001-05)
Kristin Keller Greiner, known as Kristin Keller during her collegiate career, was one of the key factors behind the Marist women's basketball program's rise to prominence in the early 2000s. She is one of the top post players in Brian Giorgis' 16-year tenure as head coach. Keller improved both her scoring and rebounding averages in all four seasons of her collegiate career. In her junior year, she was honored as MAAC Sixth Player of the Year as the Red Foxes earned their first NCAA Tournament berth in program history. As a senior, she blossomed into one of the conference's top players. She averaged 14.9 points and 7.3 rebounds per game as she earned First Team All-MAAC, Second Team All-Metropolitan Writers Basketball Association, and MAAC All-Tournament Team honors. That year, the Red Foxes won their first outright MAAC regular-season championship in program history by winning their final 15 conference games of the season. Thirteen years following her graduation, she ranks sixth in program history in career blocked shots. A strong student, Keller earned both CoSIDA Academic All-District and MAAC All-Academic Team honors.
