Women's Soccer Falls At Fordham

Two Second-Half Goals Push Rams Past Foxes

BRONX, New York – Two second half goals from the Fordham Rams would propel them to a 2-0 non-conference victory over the Marist women's soccer team Friday evening. Fordham picks up its third win of the season against five losses while Marist is now 2-3-1 overall.

SUMMARY
  • Fordham would hold the advantage in shots 4-2 in the first half but neither team could find the scoresheet. The best chance of the half went to the Rams who banged one off the crossbar before the rebound attempt was stopped by the Foxes' goalkeeper, Abigail Renaud.
  • Renaud made two saves in the first half.
  • Fordham found the scoresheet in the 57th minute after a free kick from 20 yards out made its way to the bottom corner of the net.
  • The Rams kept the pressure on and scored again in the 60th minute when Milan Bornstein cleaned up a rebound on a shot from Amanda Miller to put Fordham ahead by two.
  • Marist would press but could never formulate any real chances in the final 30 minutes of action as Fordham would hold on for the 2-0 home win.
  • The shutout loss is the first time the Red Foxes have been held scoreless since the season opening game at Binghamton.

UP NEXT
