HAMDEN, Connecticut – Marist men's tennis'
Lars Schouten came away victorious Sunday afternoon in a three-set thriller to clinch the men's singles A draw at the Quinnipiac Invitational.
The last man standing for the Red Foxes, Schouten dropped the first set of his match with UConn's Holtman, 4-6. Schouten bounced back in the second set and won 6-4 to draw the match even.
In the decisive tiebreak, the match went back and forth with Schouten emerging with the win at 22-20. In a weekend of wins for Schouten, the Red Foxes junior from the Netheralands won four matches in pursuit of the flight A crown.

Lars Schouten's epic win in the A Flight finals, coming back from a set down to capture the title in a 22-20 third set match tiebreak. Lars defeated players from Fordham, Fairfield, Quinnipiac and UConn in a brilliant display of tennis. And not to be overlooked, the two freshman,
Jack Sequerth and
Kian Yazdi ,both got on the board, as Jack partnered with team captain
Max Darrington to record his first doubles win, while Kian won two singles matches in his first collegiate competition." - Head coach
