LAWRENCEVILLE, New Jersey – The Marist women's soccer team picked up its third-consecutive conference win of the season, defeating the Rider Broncs 1-0 Saturday afternoon in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action. With the win the Red Foxes improve to 5-4-1 overall.
- Marist came out hot right from the start with a header in the 4' that went wide from Keri Bradley.
- They kept on the pressure for the rest of the 1st half with a total of 8 shots which 6 of them were on goal.
- Rider accounted for 0 shots in the first half and had trouble getting any momentum.
- The Red Foxes carried their momentum in the 2nd half with a rebound goal in the 62nd minute by Kristen Reilly.
- Marist would lock down on defense from there, recording the team's second consecutive shutout.
- Reilly's goal was her fourth of the season
- Marist hasn't relinquished a goal in just over 225 minutes of play.
- The Red Foxes' 3-0 start in conference play is the team's best since the 2012 season when they started 6-0 in the MAAC.
The Red Foxes will continue on the road and take on Niagara University on Wednedsay, October 3
