POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist men's swimming and diving defeated Southern Connecticut State 183-103 in their final home meet at McCann Natatorium. The team moves to 8-3 overall on the season.
Prior to the start of the meet, Marist honored its nine seniors,
Miguel Basalo,
David Cantu,
Daniel Knoll,
Ross Lippe,
Miguel Madeira,
Mark Miller,
Edward Oser,
Michael Presta and
Gregory Violette.
- Madeira won the 200-yard back and placed second in the 200-yard. He had a season best time in the 200-yard back and 50-yard back.
- Knoll earned the win in the 200-yard freestyle with a season best time of 1:41.63.
- Oser won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 59.29 seconds and came in second in the 500-yard freestyle.
- Violette won the 100-yard backstroke in 54.24 seconds, a season's best.
- Sophomore Murray Coueslant won the 100- and 1000 yard freestyle events. His time of 48.29 seconds was his fastest of the season.
- Raislan Aiken won both the 1- and 3-meter with scores of 301.80 and 286.87.
The Red Foxes finish off regular season action against Bryant Saturday, January 26. Meet time is scheduled for 11 am.
